Berry Compliant vs. Made in USA

Berry Compliant vs. Made in USA

What’s the difference and why it matters. If you’ve ever shopped for American-made goods, you may have come across the term “Berry Compliant.” This label is more than just a marketing phrase—it’s a legal requirement under the Berry Amendment, a U.S. law that mandates certain products purchased by the Department of Defense (DoD) be entirely made in the USA, including all raw materials and components. This ensures that military and defense-related purchases support American manufacturers and jobs. This means textiles, clothing, food, and certain other materials used by the military must be 100% domestically sourced—no foreign imports allowed.
